Its octahydrate is a colorless monoclinic columnar crystal with 3.010 relative density. When heated to 400 ℃, anhydrous can be obtained. Slightly soluble in hot water, more soluble in cold water. The solubility in water decreases with increasing temperature. Stable and avoided materials under normal temperature and pressure: moisture/humidity and heat. |

GADOLINIUM SULFATE, HYDROUS - Preparation method
1. It is obtained by the interaction of its oxide, hydroxide or carbonate with hot sulfuric acid solution.
2. Dissolve high-purity Gd2O3 in dilute hydrochloric acid, add dilute sulfuric acid slightly more than the reaction measure to the solution, and then add a large amount of 95% ethanol to the solution to precipitate the crystallization of gadolinium sulfate (III) octahydrate, filter out the precipitate and wash with 95% ethanol until there is no chloride ion and free acid, and cool and dry in the air.
